Certified Nurse Midwife located in San Antonio, TX
Meet Carla Scott
Certified Nurse Midwife, MSN
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, I have been able to live and travel all over the United States. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gannon University in Erie, PA I was commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps where I served on active duty for more than 9 years. There I was able to gain diverse experiences in Emergency Nursing, Case Management, and Labor & Delivery where I found my passion in Women’s Health Care and Advocacy.
From there I went on to study Midwifery at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, and obtain my Master of Science in Nursing and Certification as a nurse Midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board.
A proud mom of 4 kids ranging from 12-29 years old, I understand the joys and complexities of a blended family.
In many ways, I see my role in Midwifery as a tour guide. Pregnancy is a journey that many women think about, but understanding how to navigate your pregnancy journey can be complicated. I am here to learn about your goals, understand your needs, and work with you to plan a route to that destination. And as with all expeditions, I will plan for and help you navigate any bumps in the road.
An advocate for Reproductive Justice, I also seek to provide you with a full range of contraceptive options, allowing you to decide to grow your family how, when, and if you choose. Whether you’re looking to have 0, 1, 2, or 10+ children… I would love to be your Midwife!
